Judgment Day and the End of the World

Judgment Day is a central doctrine in Christian theology. The Church of Christ holds that God appointed a specific day to judge all people through Christ, coinciding with the Second Advent of Christ and the end of the world. This belief draws from scriptural passages including Acts 17:31, Jude 1:14-15, and II Peter 3:7 and 10. According to the concept of the Last Judgment as documented across Christian traditions, this event marks the final accounting for all human souls.

Members of the Church consider it a duty to share their faith. They invite people to attend Bible study sessions and worship services, and the Church uses mass media to spread its message to a broader audience. The Pasugo: God’s Message, the official monthly magazine, carries religious articles and Church news. DZEM (954 kHz) broadcasts programs covering Bible teachings, aired by roughly 60 radio stations across the Philippines and several more in the US and Australia. GEM TV-49, major Philippine cable stations, and US Direct TV channel 2068 also carry the Church’s religious programming featuring biblical teachings.

The Iglesia ni Cristo (Church of Christ) is a Christian religion whose primary purpose is to worship God based on His teachings as recorded in the Bible. The Church welcomes anyone who heeds the call of God and embraces its faith, regardless of nationality, cultural background, social standing, economic status, or educational attainment. Scholarly study of end-times doctrine across religious traditions, including resources at Pew Research Center’s religion section, shows how widely shared beliefs about a final judgment appear across world faiths.

Artists have long drawn on themes of judgment and the end of days as well. The creative world of DumbyWorld is one example of how contemporary artists interpret these powerful, enduring ideas through a modern lens.
